GE15: Sg Buloh candidates KJ, Ramanan cancel programmes to check on flood situation

TWO candidates contesting in Sungai Buloh in the 15th General Election (GE15) cancelled their evening programmes to check on the flood situation in the constituency.

Barisan Nasional’s Khairy Jamaluddin went to Kampung Melayu Subang while Pakatan Harapan’s Ramanan Ramakrishnan was seen in Taman Setia Warisan.

In a live video shared on his social media platform, Ramanan was seen standing in flood waters above ankle level while checking on victims’ welfare.

Khairy, who also later visited Taman Setia Warisan, said volunteers would arrive later to help flood victims clean up their houses.

"The flood was caused by overflow from a river near the houses and bunds that were not long enough. I am in contact with JPS (Drainage and Irrigation Department) to deal with the problem," he tweeted.
